About Us
Distinctive Drafting & Design was founded in 2009 in Zimmerman, MN. We have continued to grow solely through referrals from builders and excited homeowners. Our team has various areas of expertise, with over 27 years of combined experience. Distinctive drafting specializes in drawing up architectural plans for new homes, additions, and remodels. The final plans you receive from us will be ready for permitting and construction, with all of the structural aspects noted on the plans.
To help our clients better visualize their future projects, Virtual Reality (VR) walkthroughs and 3D renderings can be added to all projects. VR Tours and Renderings can help our clients step into their home before construction begins - saving money and time during the building process.
Whether it's your first home or your dream home, Distinctive Drafting & Design will help you turn your dreams into reality!

Our Design Process
Step 1: Introductory Meeting
During the initial meeting, we gather as much information as possible to eliminate the need for multiple meetings. At this meeting, we will discuss the size and style of your home, the number of bedrooms and baths, plus any other custom ideas you have for your space. We can start with a rough sketch of your ideas, or use one of our model plans. We will also be sure to answer any questions you have about the design process.
Step 2: Preliminary Plans
After the initial meeting, we start on your Preliminary Plans, where your ideas come to life. Our goal is to narrow down your original inspiration into a focused direction. Our program draws in 3D, so you can see your home come to life on the first set of preliminary plans. Visions and ideas can change throughout this process, and we are accommodating to changes. This is your dream home, and we want you to be satisfied with the final result!
Step 3: Final Permit Plans
Once you approve the preliminary plans, we start the finalizing process. The final details and information needed for permitting and construction will be added. The final plans you receive from us will be ready for permitting and construction, with all of the structural aspects noted on the plans.

Our Team
Shanley Radzwon - Office ManagerShanley joined our team in 2021. After high school, she got her start in the administrative field. The entry-level position quickly blossomed into retail sales, followed by business sales, and then into management. With twenty-plus years of experience, she brings a lot to the table here at Distinctive Drafting. We are excited about the expertise that she brings to our team!
When Shanley is not working, she loves to spend time at home with her husband, Tony, and her Yorkie-Poo, Lucy. They spent time remodeling their home this past year. In the summer, she loves spending time outside in her flower gardens. She loves traveling to see family and friends. Shanley also enjoys a good movie and loves to cook. |

Nicole's hobbies include running, biking, golfing, kayaking, beekeeping, and anything outdoors. |
Ezekiel - CMOCMO - "Chief Morale Officer"
Meet Ezekiel or Zeke for short. He is an 8-year-old Golden Retriever whose main occupation is keeping the staff here at Distinctive Drafting upbeat and stress-free. It is evident the lighthearted and laidback work atmosphere is primarily due to the joy a dog can bring to the workplace and Zeke's goofy personality. Many of our customers look forward to meeting Zeke during design meetings! |
In Memory of Jazmine - Our Senior CMOJazmine, or Jazi for short, was the original CMO at Distinctive when the doors opened. She trained in Zeke and worked with him for many years. She was a huge part of our staff family and is greatly missed. Rest In Peace, sweet Jazmine. We are thankful for all of the wonderful years you shared with us!
